Wax replica of the 16th century sculpture The Rape of the Sabine Women, made for Venice Biennial 2011 where I saw it in a room that was only lit up by the burning candles of the wax sculptures.

I'm gonna try a new thing here where I choose a favorite artist and three pieces by him/her. First out is Urs Fischer who is a Swiss born artist currently living in NYC. He's known for his large scale installations, which is exactly the kind of art I love. When you walk into a a gallery room (or if it's in a public place) and just feel w-o-w.
