Gothenburg friends

One of the last days of our holiday we skipped breakfast and went straight for lunch with my Grandmother (the one that lives in Gothenburg, not the one in Småland). Afterwards she invited us over for coffee and we got to meet her pet seagull Oskar that apparently lives on her balcony and feeds off her hand...

Later we had more coffee with these two power women, my friends since more then 15 years back, Sofia and Julia. Julia works and lives in Nairobi with her cute family and Sofia's just the coolest.

We went to Da Matteo where we met up with Linn and her little Majken. Lots of babies and growing bellies amongst my friends at the moment, which I think is pretty cool.

Gothenburg was as pretty as it can get so after the coffee me and P took a walk along the canal.

Final stop of the day was Kino. All the holiday eating had made us so full we decided to split one dish for dinner. Kino is my favorite Gothenburg spot for both beers and food so make sure you go there if you ever have the chance.

Then these stars arrived! Hanna and Niklas, who also just got engaged and are planning their wedding next summer. What are the odds that they'd picked the exact same date as us? It's solved now but how weird, right? Great minds think alike and all that.

Miniature Versailles

First day in Gothenburg me, P, mum and Annie the dog went on a trip to Gunnebo house and gardens. A trip to a castle seem to have become a tradition while visiting Sweden.

My hair was still wet from the morning shower. Summer <3

12 hours in Småland

After a week in Stockholm we took the train south to Alvesta where my mum, dad and this pretty one picked us up. She's my parents dog, Annie, and we grew up together. When I was a teenager she was a puppy and now she's and old lady.

After some "fika" me, mum, P and Annie the dog went out for a long and rainy walk in the woods. We found blueberries!

And one of my favorite flowers – Lupines.

When our shoes were soaked and Annie was too tired to walk any further we headed back to Grandmas.

Then we spent the rest of the day eating, solving cross words and watch the pouring rain outside the windows before we got ourselves back into the car and drove to my parents house, outside Gothenburg. And that was my 12 hours in Småland.

Day trip and bbq

When we still had a week left on our holiday we did a little day trip west of Stockholm, as you already know. But I found some more pictures from that same day that I thought I'll show you.

On our way back to the city we stopped for burgers at a classic Swedish burger joint.

In the evening we we're invited to a bbq at Nina and Felix's place.

For a bbq together with this happy (!?) bunch. Sorry for the terrible picture but at least everybody look equally stupid :-)

After watching the last episode of Game of Thrones (Omg!!!) together we headed over to P's mums place where we spent the night. Stockholm's prettiest at night, don't you think?

The day before Midsummer

Last Thursday we got up super early to catch the train to the airport only to realize the train was cancelled. As was the train after that. Last minute we caught an Uber with two strangers and managed to get to the airport in time, but then the flight was delayed for two hours. Do I even have to tell you that the airport shuttle in Sweden was delayed as well? I don't think I've ever had so much bad luck in one day.

When we finally arrived in Stockholm it was summer! Everything else was forgotten and we rushed to Systembolaget to buy wine for the upcoming Midsummer party.

I even ran into & Other Stories to buy a skirt cause I was so excited about the weather.

Then we took the bus to Stora Essingen and the Hurricane collective and spent the evening preparing for the party the next day. It was so wonderful to finally see everybody that I miss again. Here's me, new found friend Gabriel and best friends Maria and Hannah, making decorations for the party.

10 things I'm going to do in Sweden

It's been almost a year since I last saw Stockholm and on Thursday me and P are flying there to celebrate midsummer and spend a week in our old home town. After that we're going to Gothenburg to visit my family for a couple of days. H-o-l-i-d-a-y! So excited. Even though there isn't much about Sweden that I miss in my everyday life, there's a couple of things that's on top of my to do list when we're there. Here's ten things I'm going to do in Sweden.

1. Visit Trädgården and dance in the sun, drink beer, hug and say "Hi!" to all the people I used to know but haven't met in ages.

2. Hang out on Stora Essingen with The Hurricane Collective.

3. Go shopping on Weekday! Here's some things I wouldn't mind from their current sale.

4. Have a freezing swim in the ocean (or maybe not...).

5. Eat licorice flavored ice-cream, crayfish salad, soft flatbread and Swedish cheese.

6. Visit the countryside and take a walk in a forest.

7. Visit the archipelago.

8. Go to an open air party.

9. Visit my old job and see their current exhibition that looks stunning judging by the picture.

10. Hang out with family and friends (duh).

Bella's place

Today I woke up in my sisters new flat in Gothenburg. Here she lives with the cat Love (not as in love, but as in the Swedish name Love) and since she's a biology student and very interested in environmental questions and ecology she's decorated the flat with vintage furniture, green plants and flea market finds.

The kitchen even holds a tiny greenhouse.

All organic breakfast with Swedish bread flavored with wort, Christmas cheese, home made saffron buns, organic eggs and coffee.

On the fridge she had this poster saying "5 Important groceries to change to organic".
