Wedding planning: Venue

Last Monday me and P and P's dad went on a trip west of Stockholm to visit Strängnäs. We had found this pretty place for our wedding next summer that we wanted to take a closer look at.

When it comes to wedding planning the first step is finding and booking a venue and a date, which sounds fairly easy but can be quite tricky if you're on a budget and want to get married in summer. If you're also a bit picky when it comes to interior design and surroundings you're in for a struggle.

We've looked at venues in and around London, Gothenburg and Stockholm for a while now but most are either fully booked for years or way, WAY over our budget. When you search for anything plus 'wedding' prices tend to double.

Luckily we think we've found a spot that's equally pretty inside as outside – you can't count on the weather in Sweden so you better plan for the worst. It's called Facienda and is situated just outside Strängnäs, one hour west of Stockholm.

I love planning and organizing in general so I'm quite thrilled having this little project that happen to be our wedding to spend some time on. I guess this is the first post of a whole bunch to come!

  2. Thanks for sharing these tips with us. I am arranging my sister-in-law’s wedding early next year and searching for elegant San Francisco wedding venues. Hope to book a perfect one in budget for a themed wedding.
